  Amazing pork and century-egg congee!! I've come here three times now and am confident to report that this congee is the best I've had outside of homemade.
  
  They also make good crispy salt and pepper pork that has a slight curry flavor.

  I would give them one star if I didn't liked their food. But because their food is comforting to my taste, i want them to stay in business. However, the city should make them abide by the maximum capacity rule. They are always moving tables around to maximize the seating. They never allow party of two's to sit at a four people table. And they are always over their capacity!  For people on the bigger side, it is not comfortable to sit in a small table. Besides, you are over your capacity all the time! So why can't we just be allowed to sit anywhere? Do the first come first serve thing like most restaurants and stop moving the tables around!!! At some tables, the space around the table is almost zero. The waitress has to hover over someone's shoulders to serve the food. Omg! I wonder if any customers have ever been spilled on?!! Not to mention handicap accessibility?!! Zillch!! Nada!! None!!
  
  Then their service..... super poor....for lack of a better word. No smile, no greetings, no thank you's! They throw the plates around and are obviously not concern about your well being.They just want to throw the food at you, shove it down your throat and turn the table over for the next customer.  
  
  I wouldn't recommend this place but if you don't mind practically sharing tables with strangers, go ahead and eat there. But don't say I didn't warn you!!

  The food was good but the service was kinda bad near the end. We ate our food and decided to pay in cash. We waited for our change but it didn't come back, so I went up and asked about it. The waitress shrugged me off and told me it'll get there. Few more minutes and someone else flagged another waitress, more waiting...change finally came.
  
  Considering everything, we gave them the standard tip according to our Chinese tipping system. Was the food good? Was the table clean? Was the service kinda good? How much small change do we have? Etc etc.
  
  We had the fish porridge, shrimp dumplings, beef chow fun, and house crispy noodles. At least there were no complaints on the food.
  
  Oh yeah, they still haven't taken down the Ichi Ramen sign out front...kinda confusing.

  Despite being initially confused by the Ichi Ramen signage (and partial menu), Hing Lung turned out to be quite delicious. It's good, stick-to-your-bones Cantonese food that's not too heavy on oil or salt. Looking over the menu, we chose a couple of basics to baseline our feels of the restaurant...and overall, everything was very good!
  
  House special pan fried noodles:
  Perfectly pan fried to a golden crispiness, this dish was pretty generous on seafood, primarily calamari bits and bright green bok choy. A good start to the meal.
  
  Fish filet porridge:
  Incredibly generous on fish filets would be an understatement. If anything, I almost felt like the fish outweighed the amount of porridge! Still, it was good. It was creamy and rich without being too thick. Slivers of fresh ginger also added a nice spice and warmth. Of course, that warmth could have also originated from the bubbling hot clay pot...!
  
  Combination fish broth rice noodle soup:
  This was our "try something different" dish and it also turned out pretty well! The combination meats was composed of fried fish tofu, beef balls, cuttlefish balls, and shrimp swimming in a light fish broth with ample thick rice noodles. Overall, I liked the variety in toppings, but the broth was a little too tepid for me. The fish flavor did come through though!
  
  Beef brisket clay pot with flat rice noodles:
  Oh my god - so good! This dish was unctuous and so flavorful! The brisket was also super generous. It was thick and meaty, but still super tender. They only included one piece of tendon though so not sure if it was a stray piece or what. The rich brown sauce was an excellent sauce to coat the rice noodles - just salty enough, with a slightly caramelized/sweet undertone, and a hint of ginger. Yum!
  
  Gai lan with oyster sauce:
  Veggies are good for you! Hing Lung makes theirs in a no frills, just like home way. Simply boiled in alkaline water to keep its greenness and crispness. I also appreciated that they served it with oyster sauce on the side.
  
  All in all, dinner with tip came to $63.50 with tip. I would definitely welcome a repeat to try more of the menu, but hopefully next time we get to sit farther into the restaurant because 1. that incoming wind is very strong and 2. there is no personal space between you and patrons waiting for a table. This lady and her friend were easily no more than 6" from me for a solid 20 minutes which was pretty annoying...but I couldn't tell her to move cause she had no room to move into (everyone was avoiding the gusty wind outside).

  Omg I've missed this place soooo much since they closed their Chinatown location. Will have the best porridge. Got their minced beef porridge, best consistency porridge ever, meat had great flavor. My dad got the pork liver porridge and he absolutely loved it. Comes out piping hot. Give it a little pepper and so gooooood. Also got the fried tofu, so silken and great outer crisp. Their roast goose isn't actually goose though unfortunately. It was alright, not the best roast duck but still not bad. Their fried dough is legitttttttt, must have. We also got their claypot rice, comes out pretty fast, great rice crisp on the bottom, very well cooked. I love this place. Don't expect great service though, it is a traditional Chinese restaurant. Get in, eat, smile, and get out.
